Phase I: Application Process
The current Vendor Marketplace Application to Participate period now is closed.
Software Vendors, Technology Service Consultants and HISPS interested in participating in the Vendor Marketplace in the future can begin the process by completing our Vendor Information Form. Completing this form ensures that we will notify you directly when the Vendor Marketplace Application to Participate period is open.
When the Marketplace Application to Participate period is open, the process includes enough time for you to gather the requested information. RI REC staff is available to answer any questions about the content or format of the application.
RI REC notifies you when your application is received and provides a general response timeline. Our staff analyze and review all submissions to determine those vendors who meet qualifications to participate in the Marketplace. Vendors that pass the application areextended a contract to join RI REC’s Vendor Marketplace.
Phase II: Contracting
The next stage in the selection process includes negotiations with vendors to pre-determine pricing, contracting, service level, and agreement criteria. This is our way of simplifying the selection process for our REC members.
Contracts include specifications with which vendors and consultants agree to comply while working with RI REC practices.
Phase III: Final Marketplace Selections
Vendors that choose to sign a contract are announced via press release, on our website, in presentations, marketplace forums, and through other interactions with our providers. Chosen vendors also can publicize themselves as a “participant in RI REC’s pre-qualified Vendor Marketplace” or as a “pre-qualified RI REC vendor.”
Phase IV: Request for Quote (RFQ) Process
RI REC Provider Members that are in our EHR Adoption Program (eligible PCPs) can use our vendor-neutral selection checklist to determine a list of vendors that meet their needs and review their profiles. A Provider Member makes a final vendor selection and requests that a RI REC Relationship Manager conduct an RFQ. The RFQ contains general information about a provider and the details from the provider’s self-assessment to help vendors better understand the provider’s current needs. Providers may request demos or ask additional information before selecting a vendor or consultant.
