What are the benefits you have realized from EHR Adoption?
All my notes are documented within 30 minutes of my last patient, and I get home in time for dinner. I am able to code more "4"s than when I was writing by hand as more information regarding the encounter is easily documented. My staff is much happier - no charts have to be physically pulled, and I can send messages, refills, my lunch order, through the EHR directly to them (and vice versa).

What advice would you offer a physician planning to adopt an EHR?
Do not rush into getting a system until you have actually tried it out and know the full cost. Don't agree to purchase an EHR without a complete money back guarantee or the ability to try it free in your practice for a few months. Make sure you get the entire price from the vendor in writing to avoid hidden costs. Frequently you will be charged for training on "modules" that you need to practice and you want to know about them in advance.
