Vendor Marketplace

The REC currently has 6 vendors listed. http://docehrtalk.org/selecting-ehr/vendor-marketplace-participants. There are quite a few more than that on the "market". What about all the others? Have they applied and failed to pass the required elements?

I find it interesting that the marketplace is providing two different service contractors to support eClinicalWorks, but eClinicalWorks is not an approved EHR vendor in the marketplace (yet?).

I don't know the legal issues involved with running a marketplace such as this, but just wonder if there could be more information provided. Which EHR vendors (if any) are still in the application process? Which (if any) have not passed the requirements? What are all the requirements? What if a vendor is not listed, possibly because they are not interested to participate, yet they have a wonderfully capable product? It might help those shopping to know the details so they can shop on their own with some level of knowledge/confidence outside the marketplace if there is an unlisted vendor that they are interested in.

I commend the RIQI and REC for all the hard work that has created the marketplace. I think the marketplace is a wonderful idea, a great plus for those that are shopping and are not sure how to approach it or where to get started. I don't want to discount the great service that the REC is providing here, I just wonder as others might, if more information could be provided at some point. If it is not appropriate to disclose more specifics on the site, maybe supplemental/complementary information can be incorporated via links to other reference sites. I added another post regarding an ACP-sponsored site www.americanehr.com. Maybe the REC could work with similar sites and other REC to combine efforts.
