Peer Review

I don't recall having this discussion on the site yet.  I want to point out that my group has been doing peer review for many years.  It has been a wonderful tool to identify where additional training efforts are needed.  Using an EMR makes the process quite simple.  Even if you are a small practice you should consider some form of peer review activity.  I would even go so far as to suggest that solo practitioners might review their own records.  Use an objective checklist, grade yourself, see if you are doing as well as you thought/as well as expected by those that might be reading your notes, reimbursing for care, etc.  Invariably you will identify areas in need of improvement.
