Welcome to the RI Regional Extension Center!
This one-hour orientation session is for providers and practice administrators who have recently enrolled in the REC Program. The information presented will be referenced often as you proceed through your EHR evaluation and implementation processes with the goal of achieving Meaningful Use at your practice.
Each newly enrolled practice is required to send at least one representative to a REC Orientation Session.
Your REC Orientation covers the following:
- Program Overview: The REC’s history, mission, and relationship to the RI Quality Institute
- REC Services & Benefits: Review of the subsidies, support and tools available to REC members
- EHR Adoption and Implementation Scenarios: Typical steps taken by REC practices who already have or do not have an EHR
- Vendor Marketplace: Review of the REC’s Vendor Marketplace services and its pre-qualified EHR software vendors and technical service consultants
- REC Team: Introduction to your REC Relationship Manager (RM) and other team members. Explanation of the support and guidance provided by your RM.
- DocEHRtalk.org: Review of the REC’s Web site and how its features and resources can help your practice on its journey to Meaningful Use of an EHR
At orientation, you will receive a folder of reference materials and be asked to complete an EHR Milestone Questionnaire to determine where you are in the process of adoption, implementation, and quality reporting.
