We Can Cut Your EHR Adoption Headaches
The RI Regional Extension Center (REC) is equipped with Services & Tools that can make EHR adoption a smoother and more efficient transition. A REC process manager is assigned to each of the physicians we work with to provide direct and individualized support across all stages of an adoption – from understanding financial incentives to implementation, optimization and best practices guidance. This way, the benefits of an EHR can be realized without the typical headaches, no matter what stage you're at on the path toward Meaningful Use. Here's where we can help:
SUBSIDIES TO HELP
- Priority PCP’s can qualify for $2,500 in financial support.
- We know Readiness Assessments are key to successful implementations. If a Priority PCP conducts a Readiness Assessment through the REC, $1,500 per individual provider up to a maximum of ten providers will be given to members. An additional $1,000 subsidy will be given to the Priority Provider Member upon achievement of Meaningful Use.
- If a Priority PCP already has an EHR and does not conduct a Readiness Assessment through the REC, $2,500 per individual (up to a maximum of ten providers) will be given upon achievement of Meaningful Use.
DEDICATED PROCESS MANAGER
- With any large-scale overhaul of a workflow system, there is bound to be challenges and obstacles to overcome. An EHR adoption is no different. This is your vendor neutral guide. Our process managers have the health IT experience to help minimize the difficulties in transitioning to an EHR. To learn more about how our process managers tackle pain points, click here.
QUALIFIED VENDOR MARKETPLACE
- Pre-approved vendors and consultants allow you to easily compare and contrast your options to determine the absolute best fit for your practice.
- REC Marketplace vendors have experience to help you avoid common missteps and minimize the difficulties in achieving real value out of your EHR.
- Save time and reduce disruption to your practice by using our Marketplace that eases the selection process, and promotes transparency for pricing and interface development.
VENDOR RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- By leveraging our relationship with the RI healthcare community, we're able to negotiate discounts on pricing, contracting, service level and agreement criteria.
- We recommend appropriate data configurations that are individualized to your reporting needs.
- We help develop a comprehensive, easy-to-understand implementation plan to ensure full adoption and Meaningful Use achievement, in turn, reducing your practice's administrative burden, accountability and risk.
- Drawing on our experience in multiple vendor scenarios, we help resolve common issues in the vendor/physician relationship.
COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS CALCULATOR
- Our online calculator lets each provider input their individualized data to determine the actual cost of an EHR adoption. By considering costs as well as benefits like incentive funds, receivables and volume-based revenue, the calculator allows you to better assess the value and impact of your EHR.
VENDOR COMPARISON CHART
- Our standardized comparison chart highlights key vendor distinctions to help you breakdown the Marketplace so that you can accurately assess and communicate with the vendors that best serve your needs. Making the right choices at this stage can greatly accelerate the achievement of Meaningful Use as you go about your adoption.
DOCEHRTALK.ORG
- Our interactive website was launched in 2009 as an online community and knowledge center for physicians to find and share information regarding EHRs and health IT. Our interactive forums, peer-to-peer discussions and Q&A sessions promote a smoother path toward EHR adoption and Meaningful Use in Rhode Island and beyond. As the new home of REC, it also gives access to member-only resources, including standardized tools and services like preferred vendor directories. Click here to become a member of DocEHRtalk.org.
