About RI REC

Connecting Our Providers with Quality Vendors

Rhode Island Regional Extension Center (REC) is a non-profit, government-funded organization with the goal of advancing EHR adoption and meaningful use throughout the state.

As one of our services to the provider community, we are developing a qualified "marketplace" of pre-approved EHR software vendors and technology service consultants. The marketplace is a structured way for our provider members to assess their vendor options, make cost and functionality comparisons and simplify the decision-making process. The goal is to ease the selection process by doing the following for our partners:

  • Standardize products and services
  • Promote transparency in pricing and interface development
  • Save time
  • Minimize disruption to the provider

REC is a trusted organization that guides our provider partners along the path of EHR adoption. Aside from selecting the vendors to participate in the marketplace and managing our marketplace forums, we also play a central advisory role in our partners’ selection process of EHR software and technology services. By participating in our marketplace, vendors are given direct exposure to our pool of potential clients with specific, identified needs surrounding EHR adoption. The marketplace is an invaluable opportunity for vendors to:

  • Align with a trusted, well-networked organization
  • Obtain REC certification as a preferred vendor
  • Gain face time with qualified leads
  • Increase market presence in Rhode Island
  • Win new business
