Welcome, Rhode Island Providers! We are your partners in making a successful EHR adoption a reality for your practice. As a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the Meaningful Use of electronic health records (EHRs) in the state, we can help you make this sometimes difficult transition as efficient and smooth as possible – no matter what stage you’re currently at in the process.
Our goal is to get you to Meaningful Use as soon as possible so that you receive all available incentive funds and benefit from the quality and safety improvements of your EHR.
Enrolling with RI Regional Extension Center (REC) is not only the best way to get the most out of your EHR, it’s also a guaranteed way to bring federal healthcare dollars into the state. The more participation we have from the state’s provider community, the more funds we are given by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) to help Rhode Island providers improve patient care.
REC enrollment is FREE and AVAILABLE for “Priority” Primary Care Providers.
- Priority PCPs meet the following criteria:
- Provider Credentials of MD, DO, NP, PA, or CNMW
- Provider Specialties of Adolescent Medicine, Family Practice, General Practice, Internal Medicine, OB, GYN, Geriatrics, or Pediatrics
- Organization Type of Private Practice location of 10 or fewer providers, Community Health Center, Public Hospital, or other setting that serves underserved populations.
